Community Meeting
Our class had the privilege to present at this years first community meeting! We taught all 2nd and 3rd graders one of our favorite CREW activities - "Double This Double That." This activity is a fun way to practice the skills of listening, following directions, and working with others - these skills are all necessary to be successful learners. Our class also won the Golden Key class award for having the best attendance in the month of September! In addition, one student from each class was honored for exemplifying Character, or doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Congratulations to all winners!
Our Walk-A-Thon this year was a great success! With your help we raised over $4,587.75 for our school! A big thank you to all the families who raised money and came and participated in the walk. Enjoy some pictures from the day:
We had an amazing field trip today, 10/10/17, to Eli Whitney Museum to launch our new Science unit! Students sorted the rocks of Connecticut into the categories of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. They got to take home their rock array as well as a magnifying glass and light so they can continue to be geologists at home! Check out some pictures from our trip:
Students have been given their third project of the year including a project description, grading rubric, resource packet, and the project packet itself. The project teaches students more about the state of Connecticut and connects to our Social Studies expedition on rules and government. Students have two weeks to complete the project. Please work on the project nightly with your child. The project is due Friday October 20th.
